Kohl’s Holds West Palm Job Beach Job Fair By Erik Even | Dated: 02-09-2009

Wisconsin-based department store chain Kohl’s kicked off a two-week job fair last Saturday at the Workforce Alliance Career Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The company needs to staff its new Royal Palm Beach store, and nearly 150 jobs are up for grabs.

The Sunshine State’s unemployment rate is 8.1%.

Governor Charlie Crist made a stop at the Workforce Alliance in West Palm Beach on Friday to talk with and encourage those who are unemployed.

Workforce Alliance sees about 4,000 job seekers a month, a 7% increase from last year.

The job fair runs through next Thursday.

Officials said the 150 jobs are part-time, non-management positions. So far 1,000 people have already been scheduled for appointments.
