Merced County To Cut 150 Jobs; Facing $18 Million Budget Shortfall

Like most counties in California, Merced County is facing a tough budget gap that will require it to make some mass layoffs.
Around 150 jobs are expected to be cut in Merced County in the face of an $18 million deficit. The 150 jobs will be comprised of layoffs and vacancies.
One job that is likely to remain vacant is the $250,000 salaried position of development services director.
