Momentive Performance Materials is bringing 100 jobs to its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio and its customer-service facility in Gahanna, Ohio. It will also bring an additional 20 jobs to three manufacturing facilities in the towns of Hebron, Strongsville, and Richmond Heights.
The new jobs were created in part by a merger last year with Hexion Speciality Chemicals, Inc. Another factor leading to the new hires was the Ohio Tax Credit Authorities approval of tax credits worth just under $4 million.
In addition to creating jobs, the Ohio Department of Development is claiming that the tax credits will prevent the layoffs of the company’s 780 employees.
Ohio can expect to see the new jobs instated over the next three years.
