Remington Arms, a firearm and ammunition manufacturer, has expanded to Ilion, New York, bringing 100 new jobs with it.
The Freedom Group, parent company to Remington Arms recently received two state grants that allowed the company to relocate a part of it’s Connecticut operations to Ilion.
The company announced the expansion last year and has now completed the hires as well as a $6 million renovation of a 40,000 square foot space.
“The product line is up and running and nearly 100 new workers are employed today because of that expansion,” said Senator James Seward, who helped the company secure the grants from the state. “That’s big news, and it’s very good economic news at a time when some good economic news is hard to come by, but we have that type of news here locally.”
