Ashley Furniture to Lay Off 90 By Erik Even | Dated: 02-16-2009

Ashley Furniture in Arcadia, Wisconsin said job cuts will affect 90 people, or about 3% of the furniture manufacturer’s Wisconsin work force.

Ashley CEO Todd Wanek said the struggling housing market has reduced demand for home furnishings.

Ashley, which laid off around 200 people at two Mississippi plants last fall, still employs around 3,000 people in Wisconsin.
