Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center plans to lay off 104 people at the Kissimmee, Florida resort.
Nashville-based Gaylord Entertainment informed its employees yesterday that it will lay off 350 positions throughout the company, about 3.5% of its total work force. About 1,700 are employed at Gaylord Palms.
Some 180 positions in Nashville will be cut from the company’s corporate headquarters, Opryland Hotel and area attractions.
CEO Colin Reed said cutting staff, freezing salaries and curtailing travel would be part of the company’s cost cutting measures.
Gaylord Entertainment operates resort hotels in Nashville, Kissimmee, Dallas and Washington, DC.
Gaylord also operates the Grand Ole Opry, WSM Radio, and licensing & merchandising for Hee Haw, a country music/variety TV show.
