The Indiana Blood Center in Indianapolis is eliminating 32 positions.
The nonprofit said today that the cuts affect 6.5% of its work force, and are effective immediately.
The center’s CEO Byron Buhner says rising costs and decreasing blood usage prompted the cuts. The positions eliminated include two executive positions.
The Center says staff cuts won’t affect the center’s service to more than 60 hospitals across the state.
