Selma Apparel Firm to Create 30 New Jobs By Erik Even | Dated: 02-21-2009

Selma, Alabama-based American Apparel announced it is expanding, bringing new jobs to the area.

The company is set to purchase the military contract company Wellstone Mills. It’s a contract to develop yarn, fabrics and apparel for all four services of the military.

The deal will create growth in the company’s plants in Selma, Opp, Fort Deposit, Centre and Oneonta.

Thirty new jobs will be created at the two Selma plants alone.

American Apparel is the leading manufacturer of military apparel and employees nearly 1400 people.
