Job Optimism for Consumers is Higher This Month

Reuters reports that consumer sentiment improved in May. A brighter outlook on the jobs front is given credit for much of the boost. Consumers still expressed some wariness about energy prices and personal finances, however. These latest numbers were slightly higher than analyst’s expectations but economists expect consumers to curb spending until energy prices ease.
