10,000 Detroit Public Schools Employees to get layoff notices

- 10,000 Detroit Public Schools Employees are being laid off from July 29, the last day of summer school, to allow maximum flexibility for staffing, in light of budget deficit, as informed by DPS spokesman Steve Wasko. It is not known, how many of them will be recalled and when, as the schools re-open in September.
