Rochester City School District Teachers Receive Layoff Notices

The Rochester City School District decided to lay off over 400 teachers. To prevent more layoffs, the teacher’s union is trying to reach an agreement with the school district which would benchmark salaries and reduce contract obligations, changes which would save over a hundred jobs. Teachers can vote on this issue on Thursday.
