Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland have not laid off any teachers so far for the upcoming school year. Although, the class size has gone up, the staff levels are the same as they were five years ago. There are 10,271 classroom positions in the school district and the salaries have gone up slightly over the last five years. But some parents are not happy with the increase in class sizes, especially at the elementary level.
