With states raising taxes on a variety of products, raising fees for services and cutting budgets, Utah’s attempt to institute a new 4-day/10-hour work week for state workers, started under former governor and now presidential candidate John Huntsman, has apparently not resulted in the hoped-for savings, and the state is ending the program. In other developments, all of Utah’s profitable state-run liquor stores are to stay open.
