About 1,500 white collar jobs will be lost in Connecticut as United Technologies restructures. That’s six percent of the firm’s workforce in the state.
Hartford-based UTC announced they will cut nearly 12,000 jobs globally.
Most of the cuts are likely to come from UTC’s aerospace units, Pratt & Whitney and Hamilton Sundstrand.
UTC is also pursuing furloughs, merit pay deferrals, overtime reductions and hiring freezes.
