A bill introduced this week in the Arkansas legislature would require 5% of all diesel fuel sold in the state to contain biodiesel. Lawmakers are calling it the “B5″ fuel standard.
Biodiesel could bring 1,500 jobs to the natural state.
Biodesiel is a fuel made from feedstock which is produced in Arkansas.
A study says the “B5″ fuel standard would bring Arkansas $359 million a year, and $25 million in added tax revenues. The plan would create 1,500 jobs with an average wage of $37,000.
