Companies Being Paid to Hire By jim  |  Dated: 05-19-2012

Most people would not be willing to donate a large portion of money to help ensure that someone else found work. However, The WorkPlace, which is located in Connecticut and runs as a non-profit agency, is doing so because they generally believe that in doing this; they can help many individuals, specifically those who have been unemployed on a long-term basis. It would be a win-win situation for both the employer and the employees, as the employer will receive an incentive for hiring the employee, in the form of cash, and the employee finally gets the job that he or she has been looking for but was unable to find for quite some time. This agency does not believe in trying to get the money for this from the government and instead, they are working with a number of different private companies as well as wealthier citizens who would be willing to support this employment.

The chief executive for the agency, Joseph Carbone, says that there are a lot of different people out there who are dealing with long-term unemployment. For many of these people, the benefits have run out and they are no longer receiving any type of benefits yet they are still out of work. These people often search long and hard for work but have a hard time finding it. With the tools that this agency has, it is quite possible that these people can finally get the help that they need and ultimately find employment.

There have been many different companies and foundations that have already decided to donate hundred and thousands of dollars to The WorkPlace and their initiative so that they can help the general public find employment. This program is just one of the many different attempts that are being made to help solve the issue of long-term unemployment for those who are no longer getting unemployment benefits and are still out of work, unable to find the work they have been looking for. Many of these people have been jobless for over a year, sometimes several years, all because of the Great Recession and the crippled economy, which happened to be the aftermath of the recession. It has been hard to get back into the job market.

The WorkPlace is a program that will be focusing primarily on helping those who are unemployed and are no longer receive unemployment benefits because they have exhausted their benefits and their extensions of the benefits. The program offers several weeks of training, in which these individuals learn to build a resume and search for different jobs while also brushing up on some of their skills, which includes job interview skills, all of which can help these people to find jobs.
