Fox 8 has recently announced its campaign, which was created as a way of supporting veterans in the area of Northeast Ohio. The campaign is referred to as Hire Our Troops and launched on Memorial Day, which took place on May 28^th, 2012. Staff members of Fox 8 consulted with a number of different agencies as a way of figuring out how they could help the veterans who were returning back to civilian life after being in service for quite a while. These veterans often return home and are not sure how to go about finding employment, as things are so much different than they were before. The Senior Vice President of RecruitMilitary LLC, Mike Francomb, says that when an individual is deployed, it is an entirely different experience, something that changes their life forever. Francomb, who is an Army Captain and once served during the Gulf War, understands the difficulties of returning back to civilian life after being deployed, and that is why he chose to join RecruitMilitary over a decade ago. The program works to help veterans find employment.

RecruitMilitary has been in existence for quite some time but now they are joining hands with Fox 8, together working on the Hire Our Troops program. Francomb says that he and everyone else at RecruitMilitary and Fox 8 are all extremely passionate about this program. He is excited to start working with the thousands of veterans who are in need of employment after returning back from deployment. With each year that passes, nearly 200,000 veterans come back home after serving as active duty military members. Once they return home, they have to transition themselves back to civilian life because they need jobs. It is not always an easy thing to make the transition though, which is what Hire Our Troops is all about, as this program works to connect military members with corporations.

The Manager of Talent Acquisition at Weltman, Weinberg and Reis, Linda Gray, says that the law firm knows and understands there are many people coming back from their deployments and looking for regular jobs but unfortunately, there just wasn’t any type of connection between letting these veterans know that the firm was interested in talking to them and having them work for them. Gray says that they have several open positions, many of which are located in the Cleveland, Ohio area. With the Hire Our Troops program, it will be easier for companies like this to connect with veterans that they want to hire. Gray worked with the Fox 8 team during the development of the program. She says that the firm would like to hire many veterans for all sorts of positions, ranging from tech-related positions to human resources and more. Gray also points out that employment is getting better in the area and there is plenty of room for war talent.
