New Jobs in Healthcare Field By jim  |  Dated: 06-25-2012

It is believed that within the next eight years, there will be 5.6 million more health care jobs available than there are at this point in time. What makes matters even better is that the vast majority of health care positions that will be added within the next few years will be high paying positions. While the positions will come with a decent salary, many of the people who are currently unemployed do not have the type of experience or education that is necessary to gain such a position. Whether or not the Affordable Care Act is approved, it is still expected that employment within the health care sector will continue to thrive and boom. In fact, in the United States, 18% of the economy relates solely to the health care field.

Many different types of positions will be made available for those who are working in the health care field or looking to work in this field at some point in the future. Some of the jobs include pharmaceutical positions, along with hospital jobs and administration jobs as well. By the time 2020 approaches, a total of 13% of jobs will have to do with health care in one way or another. Even so, most of those jobs will require some sort of education beyond a high school diploma or GED, which means that secondary education, would be necessary. Those who are looking to work within the health care field are going to need to earn certifications and degrees, especially if they want to have the higher paying positions.

With an increase in the hiring of skilled employees to work within the health care field, it is believed that there will also be an increase when it comes to the lack of people who work in the health care field and are considered to be a racial minority. Even with such results, workers who were born in other countries outside of the United States still make up about 22 percent of the employees within the health care field. There are also certain positions that seem to be dominated by women, which include home health aides and nurses. At this point in time, there are still a lower number of Hispanic individuals who are currently working as physicians in the United States. It is believed that this is due to a number of different obstacles that may stand in their way, including poverty.

Although certain minorities are having a difficult time now with employment in this particular field of work, women seem to be overpowering the health care field. The number of women working in this field continues to increase over the years. This shows that there are more women getting the secondary education that is necessary to hold down one of the many high paying medical positions.
