The Texas Workforce Commission reports that employment in the Lone Star State fell by 46,100 jobs in February.
The state’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate jumped to 6.5% in February, from 6.4% in January. This is still better than the nation’s unemployment rate of 8.1%.
In the past 12 months, Texas recorded a net loss of 62,600 jobs.
