Telerx Marketing to Cut 120 Jobs By katie  |  Dated: 10-10-2012

Telerx Marketing is a name that many of you are likely to be less than familiar with. It is not your fault, it is just when a company is designed to service the needs of other businesses they are usually not very well know by the public at large, since they just don’t spend the advertising dollars. So before we talk about the job cuts to come here is a look at how they have chosen to describe themselves, “Founded in 1980, Telerx has been successfully building customer relationships for our clients longer than most of our competitors have been in business. It began with an innovative marketing technique that harnessed the cost-effectiveness of telephones to deliver critical communications to our clients’ customers: doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. By hiring nurses and pharmacists – a practice that was pioneered by Telerx – we were able to communicate more effectively, helping our clients launch new products, sustain existing products, and increase market penetration. Our role soon expanded to include patient care and counseling as compliance became a critical factor in sustaining growth and improving patient outcomes.”

Sadly the company is getting ready to make a mass layoff action happen in order to reduce the costs associated with its staffing. The company is letting go of 120 workers at its Kings Mountain facility. This is more than enough to qualify as a mass layoff action under the current federal guidelines. For those of you who are not familiar with the idea of a mass layoff action here is a look at how the federal government defines the term, “The Mass Layoff Statistics (MLS) program collects reports on mass layoff actions that result in workers being separated from their jobs. Monthly mass layoff numbers are from establishments which have at least 50 initial claims for unemployment insurance (UI) filed against them during a 5-week period. Extended mass layoff numbers (issued quarterly) are from a subset of such establishments—where private sector nonfarm employers indicate that 50 or more workers were separated from their jobs for at least 31 days.” The only good news is that under the current guidelines the workers will be given several weeks of notice before they are cut from the payrolls.

Interestingly enough the company’s most recent release was not about the job cuts they are making, but instead was about an award the company won in 2011, “Telerx, a leader in customer care and experience, today announced that its product, Social InteraXions, was named a 2011 TMC Social CRM Award finalist by TMC, a global, integrated media company. The CRM award, sponsored by Customer Interaction Solutions magazine, honors companies that have demonstrated innovation, unique capabilities, and significant contributions toward enabling and improving social channel interactions. Social InteraXions is a leading social media support solution, which allows Telerx clients to assess, monitor, engage, measure and analyze the collective voice of their customers across social media channels. The TMC Social CRM Award honored Telerx for its innovation, unique capabilities, and significant contributions toward enabling and improving social channel interactions.”

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
