Hillsborough County Water Cuts White Collars

Hillsborough County, Florida Water Resource Services has eliminated 17 positions, including management and senior level jobs, from its work force of 676.That’s 14 layoffs and three unfilled positions eliminated.
Water Resource Services has 155,000 clients, providing water for residential, commercial and industrial customers in unincorporated Hillsborough County.
The economic meltdown and the recent drought have caused a decline in revenues that has affected the department’s budget.
Other cost-cutting measures within WRS include deferring construction projects, streamlining operations and restructuring personnel.
