In a recent ruling, a Federal Appeals Court has agreed to hear the claim of gangster James “Whitey” Bulger, who is accused of participating in the murders of nineteen people. Bulger is asking to have the judge, Judge Richard Stearns, removed from his case. Bulger’s lawyers claim is that the Judge was a federal prosecutor when Bulger was allegedly given immunity for crimes he committed as leader of the Winter Hill Gang. Federal prosecutors deny the gangster’s claim. The case will appear before the US Circuit Court of Appeals on January 8th.
