Layoffs at many community providers

Layoff preparations are underway at many of the state’s non profit community providers. During a meeting in Hartford today the operators of the organizations that deliver services to people with intellectual disabilities and addiction problems began a dialog with the Malloy administration over pending budget cuts from the state. “The providers that are here today, they’re making layoff plans, they’re talking about what services they reduce, what people they don’t serve, who do they serve less than they’re serving now, what services do they cut that don’t produce revenue.
