Meeting budget guideline requires layoffs of six employees

It appears that police Chief Stephen DuBois is left with no other option but to think in terms of laying off six employees if the City council’s fiscal year 2014 budget guideline of 4 percent increase over the current year is to be met. Also, the police department would have to resort to cut the police K-9 program in half.
