Vallejo School Board Considering Layoffs

Up to 46 teachers may soon lose their jobs in the ongoing Vallejo school district restructuring. The school board meets for its first budget decisions on Wednesday at 5 PM, after a closed session at the district offices at 4 PM. Layoff notifications must be made by March 15. Also on the agenda are a potential move to even-year board elections and an amendment of Superintendent Ramona Bishop’s contract, to be considered at a special session on Monday.
