Fairly Significant Layoffs of Teachers Expected By EmploymentCrossing | Dated: 05-21-2013

It is possible that the school district could be laying off between 35 and 50 teachers after the school year ends. School Supt. Diane Allen and Taylor Federation of Teachers President Linda Moore are expected to hold a special meeting to discuss the layoffs, at latest, this week or next. The district is in the first year of a three-year deficit-elimination plan to combat a $19 million deficit.
