Governments Imposing Fewer Layoffs and Hiring Freezes – Study

All levels of government, from city to state to federal, have been expecting layoffs and hiring freezes. But, as reported to the nonprofit Center for State & Local Government Excellence, these numbers have been less than expected. The employees who are able to remain on the job are finding that their benefit levels are being altered. These changes mean that employees will have to contribute more to their retirement funds.
