Sure Fit to Close Its Lower Macungie Facility, Lays off 75

Pennsylvania-based Sure Fit Inc. will close its Lower Macungie Township facility this year, resulting in layoff of 75 employees. Sure Fit, which manufactures furniture slipcovers, told the state Department of Labor and Industry that it will provide layoff notices to 75 of the 103 employees at its facility near Alburtis in early August. Affected employees can apply for positions at other company facilities located in Illinois and California, and many of those receiving layoff notices will stay on the payroll for several months during a transition period.
