Screen Actors Guild Cuts 35 Jobs

The Screen Actors Guild will cut 35 jobs from its workforce of 440.The guild’s national board has approved a $60 million budget for the fiscal year starting May 1st. The actors’ union did not say which departments would see cuts.
SAG members having seen declining feature work over the past year, due to uncertainty from a possible strike. SAG’s share of TV work has declined, as nearly all pilots opted to sign with the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists.
The Writer’s Guild of America West recently cut 18 jobs, or about 10% of staff.
