San Diego Gets $7 Million for Summer Jobs

San Diego, California County will receive $7 million in federal economic stimulus funds to create temporary summer jobs for 3,000 low-income young people.The program will fund jobs at 12 local non-profit agencies, running from May through September. Most will pay $8.25 per hour.
San Diego’s unemployment rate has almost doubled to 9.3% in the past year.
