Fremont, CA to Eliminate 74 Jobs

The City of Fremont, California, a town of 212,000 near Silicon Valley, will lay off or cut hours for 20 employees, and eliminate 54 un-budgeted or unfilled positions.City officials are also asking city departments to permanently reduce their expenditures by 9% for 2010.
The town faces budget deficits of nearly $11 million this year, and more than $13 million projected for 2010.
