Hutchinson Cutting 300 Jobs

Hutchinson Technology, which makes components for disk-drives, will cut 300 jobs by the end of its Q3.After the layoffs, the firm will employ 2,500 people.
Hutchinson specializes in the design and manufacture of precision technologies, such as the suspension assemblies that hold magnetic read-write heads at microscopic distances above the disks in rigid disk drives.
Hutchinson’s manufacturing plants and logistics warehouses are located in Hutchinson and Plymouth, Minnesota; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Logistics warehouses are located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
