Thunder Valley Casino Lays Off 100

Lincoln, California’s Thunder Valley Casino has laid off 100 part-time employees, a 5% reduction.

The Indian-owned casino implemented a hiring freeze in January. The casino employs 1,600.

The United Auburn Indian Community began construction on an expansion last year, but in January suspended construction, putting 350 contractors and subcontractors out of work.

The 200,000-square-foot facility opened in June 2003.
