Sutter Health Cuts 121 IT Jobs

Sutter Health, which earlier this month warned information technology employees of possible job cuts, has laid off 121 IT pros at its Information Services department in Rancho Cordova, near Sacramento, California.

Sutter employs about 1,500 IT staffers. Those laid off get two months pay, in addition to severance packages.

Sutter, a 26-hospital system, operates California Pacific Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital in San Francisco; Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley and Oakland; Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley; the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, and several other hospitals and physician foundations in the Bay Area.

Sutter Health is a not-for-profit hospital network in Northern California, based in Sacramento, California. It is the Bay Area’s largest hospital and medical-group network.
