ARCA Biopharma Eliminates 40 Jobs

Broomfield, Colorado-based biotech firm ARCA Biopharma has cut 40 employees.

Those laid off will get severance packages.

ARCA Biopharma, formerly Nuvelo, is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing genetically-targeted therapies for heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. ARCA’s lead product candidate Gencaro, a beta-blocker and mild vasodilator, is under review by the FDA for treatment of chronic heart failure.
