General Motors to Cut Thousands of North American Jobs

General Motors, which just shut down 1,100 dealerships, is preparing to cut thousands more salaried positions in North America.

The firm cut 4,400 North American jobs earlier this year. The firm is heading toward possible bankruptcy.

GM’s new cuts are part of a plan announced in February to cut its global salaried workforce by 10,000 people to 63,000 This means a North American reduction to 30,800 jobs, from 35,200.
