Washington State to Create Youth Summer Jobs

Democratic US Representative Brian Baird has announced that 700 summer jobs for at-risk youth in Southwest Washington State will be created with $2 million in federal stimulus funding.

The Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council is accepting applications for the positions in Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties.

The program offers teenagers and young adults 180 hours of paid work experience over a six weeks this summer, in a wide array of jobs.
