Sun MicrosystemsSun Microsystems is letting go 18 employees from its Phoenix, Arizona location.

The Santa Clara, California-based computer networking firm to cut as many as 6,000 workers, or 18% of its work force, to trim costs.

The firm has eliminated 2,800 jobs so far this year.

Sun Microsystems is a multinational vendor of computers, computer components, computer software, and information technology services, founded in 1982. It employs over 33,000 worldwide.
