IntuitMountain View, California’s Intuit, maker of Quicken and Turbo Tax software, will lay off 300 of its 8,200 employees. Half the cuts will come at the firm’s Silicon Valley headquarters.

This week, Intuit purchased Pal Alto’s PayCycle for $170 million.

Founded in 1983, Intuit develops financial and tax preparation software and related services for small businesses, accountants and individuals. It is incorporated in Delaware.
