Talbots to Cut 20% at HQ

Retail chain Talbots posted a smaller than expected loss this week, but will still hold layoffs.The women’s clothing retailer will cut 20% of its corporate workforce. In February, the chain predicted it would cut 17%.
The cuts will occur at its corporate locations in Massachusetts. It announced in February the closures of 20 under-performing stores.
Hingham, Massachusetts-based The Talbots is a leading international specialty retailer, cataloger and “e-tailer” of women’s classic apparel, shoes, and accessories.
