Report: Renewable Electricity Could Create 850,000 Jobs by 2025

According to a new report, a suggested national Renewable Electricity Standard of 25% by 2025 could create more than 850,000 full-time jobs across the US.According to the report by the Blue Green Alliance, a nationwide partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, 28 states already have their own Renewable Electricity Standard.
The report says “…projects [on] renewable energy technologies can provide, on average, four to six times as many jobs as equivalent investments in fossil fuels when manufacturing, installation and operations are all accounted for.”
The top five states with RES job potential are Texas, New York, California, Ohio and Oklahoma.
Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources—such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat—which are renewable (naturally replenished).
