Sauer Danfoss Lays Off 145 in Iowa

Rockford, Illinois-based Sauer Danfoss has laid off 145 employees at its Ames, Iowa plant.

In 2008, the Ames plant employed 1,150 people. Since then, the factory has cut 39% of its workforce.

Once the current round of layoffs in complete, the Ames facility will have only 700 workers.

Sauer-Danfoss designs, manufactures and markets engineered hydraulic, electric and electronic systems and components, for use primarily in applications of mobile equipment. The product range serves markets such as agriculture, construction, road building, material handling, municipal, forestry, turf care and many others. Rockford, Illinois-based Sauer-Danfoss has sales, manufacturing and engineering capabilities in Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region.
