Williamsville, New York’s Independent Health Association will lay off 50 employees, outsource some technology and telecommunications jobs, and selling the majority of its third-party administration business.
Affected employees will receive outplacement services and severance. The firm employs 1,000.
Founded in 1980 as the outgrowth of a University at Buffalo graduate school research project, Independent Health covers over 365,000 people across the country with more than 100 plans, services and products.
