New York’s American Industrial Partners Capital Fund has purchased struggling recreational vehicle manufacturer Fleetwood RV, and intends to hire 650 workers in Decatur, Indiana.
Seven hundred people were laid off in Indiana and California as a result of the purchase. They have been invited to apply for the new positions — but at a 10% salary cut.
The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership and Indiana Economic Development Corp. convinced American Industrial to base Fleetwood’s operations in Decatur, with undisclosed incentives. The Decatur City Council votes this week on abatements for Fleetwood.
