Ameren Energy Resources will cut 42 jobs in Illinois. Most of the layoffs will go into effect in September, with the rest shown the door next March.
The layoffs target workers in the generation technical services group.
Ameren Corporation was created in 1997 by the merger of Missouri’s Union Electric Company and the neighboring Central Illinois Public Service Company. It is now a holding company for several power companies and energy companies. The company is based in St. Louis, Missouri. Ameren is a portmanteau for “American” and “Energy”.
