Verizon Will Cut 8,000 More Jobs

Verizon will cut 8,000 jobs, or 3.6% of its work force, in the second half of 2009.The telecom firm has already cut 8,000 positions over the last 12 months.
Verizon Communications is a US broadband and telecommunications company, and a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. It was formed in 2000 when Bell Atlantic merged with GTE.The company’s headquarters are located in Lower Manhattan, New York City.
