Texas School District Cutting 230 Jobs

The Donna, Texas Independent School District is cutting 229 jobs, affecting all departments. The layoffs will be finished by the end of next month.One hundred of the positions were unfilled and have already been eliminated.
The layoffs will include classroom aides, cafeteria workers, custodians, and security guards. Teachers will not be targeted.
The Donna Independent School District is a public school district based in Donna, Texas. The district also serves portions of Alamo, as well as the communities of Muniz, Scissors, and South Alamo. It has two high schools, three middle schools, 13 elementary schools, and two alternative schools.
