Rochester NY Board of Education Lays Off 130, Saves 40

The Rochester, New York Board of Education is laying off 130 teachers, but will keep 40 employees who were previously targeted.Those jobs saved by a Board vote include music teachers, school psychologists and social workers.
The Board is still considering cuts in programs and classes.
The Rochester City School District is a public school district that serves approximately 33,000 students in the city of Rochester in Monroe County, New York. It has over 6,000 employees.
