GM Hiring 375 in Missouri to Make Buick LaCrosse

General Motors will hire 375 new workers in Fairfax, Missouri, as it ramps up production of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse mid-size luxury sedan.The auto manufacturer will rehire workers from GM plants that have been shut down. When hirings are complete, the Fairfax plant will employ 2,500 hourly and 200 salaried workers.
The car is the second new product launched by GM since its bankruptcy, after the new Chevrolet Camaro. The production line currently produces 45 cars an hour. GM hopes to increase this to 60.
General Motors Corporation is a global automaker founded in 1908, with headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. It is the world’s second-largest automaker after Toyota, ranked by 2008 global unit sales. GM was the global sales leader for 77 consecutive calendar years from 1931 to 2007.
