Ameren Energy Resources to Cut 84 Illinois Jobs

Ameren Energy Resources will cut 84 jobs at three Illinois energy generating facilities.

The sites now employ a total of 200. The cuts will be complete by Q1 2010.

Ameren Corporation was created in 1997 by the merger of Missouri’s Union Electric Company and the neighboring Central Illinois Public Service Company. It is now a holding company for several power companies and energy companies. The company is based in St. Louis, Missouri. Ameren is a portmanteau for “American” and “Energy”.
